Friday night..  got plans all weekend, so might as well stay in and catch up on the collection a little, right?

Sixpoint - Resin.  A 'double IPA' at 9.1% ABV and a palate-whopping 103 IBUs.  Yep, 103!  DAMN.  This is a pure orange pour, just enough head to be comforting which quickly fades to a sticky lacing on along the edges.  The second the can was cracked the hops absolutely make a bee line to the back of your nose!  Pure, straight-up piney, sticky bitterness in the aroma.  Grapefruit, citrus, rich sweet bready malts, hints of Belgian fruit.. complex yet simple.  The taste follows suit, except instead of nose, the hops literally destroy your palate, which I'm completely OK with!  This is utterly sticky, even more so than certain batches of DfH 120minute.. so you know this shit's serious!.  Just enough malts here to keep this from being pure hop juice.. some caramel, bready malts... not overpoweringly bitter but it still packs a whallop.  Let it sit in your mouth and you'll slowly feel the lovely hoppy burn!  Amazing balance here.. tough to pin everything down, but trust me, it all works and it's damned great.  Resin lives up to it's name for sure.

What's that you say?  Another IPA?  Um.. NO!  This my friends..  this is a TRIPLE IPA!  Founders - Devil Dancer Triple IPA.  BOOM!  12.0% ABV and 112 (actual) IBUs.  Why actual, you ask?  Well, my friends, that's because this fuckin demon-seed of hoppy extravagances the likes of which you probably cannot fathom, nor handle.. this has a calculated IBU of over 200!  Let that sink in...    OVER TWO HUNDRED!!!!!!!!!!  What in God's good name?!   Well, there is no God.. only the Devil, and he wants to dance.  Beautifully burnt orange, decent head that fades to thin lacing... and the most resinous hop aroma I have ever had the pleasure of inhaling!  Seriously.. I think Founders just poured pure hop oil extract into a bottle..  Huge amounts of sweet malts line my nostrils while the absurdly hoppy notes go straight to the brain.      Pineapple, citrus, piney, candied sugar..  subtleties that aren't-so-subtle in the aroma.  The taste will just blow you away.  If I've described anything as chewy, sticky, hoppy before.. I've been sorely mistaken.  THIS is chewy, THIS is sticky, THIS is hoppy!  Huge bitter burn.. totally piney and citrus hops here.  The alcohol burn is front and center, but totally pleasant unlike some higher ABV beers.  Incredibly thick for a non-dark beer, and for a beer in general.  Spicy, malty, orange peel..  sticky on the finish with lingering bitterness and bite.

Wow..  I'll either pass right the hell out, or be up dancing with the Devil for hours on end tonight!  Either way, I won't complain!
