10.14 - Fluffy White Daggers

Yep.. read that right.  Fluffy White Daggers.  It's called creative writing, get used to it.

Well..  you can now tell the first part of this post's title....

Pretty Things - Fluffy White Rabbits - an 8.5% ABV 50 IBU 'hoppy' Trippel.  Gorgeous hazy golden pour, perfect fluffy head.  Citrus notes in the aroma.. hints of spice and some grassy hops.  Just a bit yeasty with noticeable alcohol on the nose.  Very crisp taste, much lighter than you'd expect an 8.5% beer to be.. an immediate alcohol burn greets you - these fluffy rabbits mean business!  Bright citrus notes, very light sweet, malts..sorta bready.  A spicy rye-esque hop profile is present on the finish.  Smooth finish with a lingering sweetness that fades into a dry bite with a slight burn.  A unique take on a Trippel that combines the style with a sort of Belgian IPA.  Very bright, just enough hop and burn to remind you of its strength.  The floral and grassy hops add a very nice touch, but a bit light in body for the amount of flavor and burn this packs.

oooooooohhh!! Now you get it!  Jack's Abbey - Smoke & Dagger!  (plus I'm watching the season premier of The Walking Dead..  so yeah, daggers are awesome!)  5.8% and 25 IBUs - a blend of a black lager and smoked porter...  rich dark brown, almost black pour and amazing off-white/mocha head.  Faint chocolate and roasted malt notes.. some bitter coffee and smoke already come through.  Amazingly light for such a dark beer!  This is one hella smooth beer..  dark chocolate and roasted malts give way to a perfect balance of smoke and roast.  The smoke in this is amazing.. tingles the tounge, burns the throat like a nice cigar..  Underlying notes are some vanilla, burnt coffee and a rye spice. Roasty and dry finish with just a bit of sweetness..  this is uhhhmazing!
