Long Overdue - Breakfast Stout on Draft

So about a month ago I got word that the Gaff in town managed to get a keg of Founders Breakfast Stout! BOOM!  If you know your beer, you know Breakfast Stout is tough to get on it's own..but seeing it on draft somewhere, shit, you drop all plans to go get it.  So I had to do just that..

For those of you who don't know, this is a small-release, super-hyped beer with a shit-ton of flavor.  8.3% and 60 IBUs..this ain't yo mama's breakfast.  They brew it with chocolate, flaked oats and imported Kona and Sumatra coffee.  With the weight of this one, hell yeah you can drink one and be good to go in the morning.  A huge chocolate head with the coffee aromas making you feel like you're actually in the Kona coffee fields.  DAMN.  So smooth and velvety with a great rich sweetness from the fresh oats.  A huge component of the flavor is chocolate..bouncing between sweet milk and bitter dark lending itself to an almost espresso-like coffee profile.  Bits of the higher alcohol poke through near the finish with a little earthy hops.  A great beer, a slow sipper for those cold nights in front of the fire.. and totally worth the hype.
