Harpoon 100 Barrel Series - #36 Island Creek Oyster Stout First time I had this at a bar, the bartender had to ask my about any allergies! It's actually brewed with real oysters, fresh from Duxbury Bay! at 5.5% ABV and 35 IBUs.. this has got to be one of the blackest pours I've ever seen. Smoky and roasty on the nose, chocolates, coffee and some faint vanilla. A lighter stout than average, iced coffee dominates with roasted chocolate malts following. Only towards the finish does a slight salty/briny taste come through indicated the oysters used. Unbelievably smooth and silky with bits of faint floral hops interspersed. Not sure if you can find it anymore, but if you like stouts and want a unique take on one (provided you're not allergic), this is a must-have!
