Philly.. A Few Weeks Late pt II

Oh you better believe there was night number two!

I began my evening at Farmer's Cabinet, an absolutely gorgeous beer bar modeled after a country barn, with a 1930's feel to it.  SO badass!  AND Philly has Happy Hour!  I got my first beer for $3.50.. it was huge!

Hof Ten - Dormaal Dark -a 7.5% ABV dark Farmhouse ale.  Roasted, woody/earthy, yet fruity, bubbly and  sweet.  An awesome blend styles

't Gaverhopke / Tired Hands  - Bittersweet Symphony.  a 7.8% ABV Belgian Imperial IPA collab with Tired Hands from PA.  Straight up Belgian nose and initial taste, into a full-blown west coast Imperial IPA finish.  Exactly how it should be and exactly tasty as hell!

To Øl / Mikkeller - Sleepover.  a 10.5% ABV Coffee Imperial IPA collab.  OH MY.  Such clean coffee notes, wicked bitter, but smooth and sweet with great citrus notes and a beautiful ballet of bitterness on the finish with coffee and hops twirling round and round..   WOW!

Also got a small little taste of Cabinet Artisanal - Marry Me in Goslar - a sour gose by Cabinet Artisanal brewhouse in VA (soon to be widely distributed next year!)  Fruity with slight sour and oaky notes.  Wanna look for these guys soon!

Finished my night at Eulogy Belgian Beer Bar.  Almost as well-known as Monk's.  This place was so badass I woke up with a t-shirt!  That's what drinking awesome beers will do to me...

To Øl / Mikkeller - Overall.  10.5% ABV American-style Imperial IPA.  Huge and citrusy, bitter, sharp honey/caramel sweetness and a decent alcohol bite.  Cool interpretation of the style!

Malheur - °12 - a 12.0% ABV Quad from Brouwerij de Landtsheer.  Brown/black, gorgeous pour.. massive nose of sweet candied fruits, figs and a touch of vanilla sweetness.  Shining example of the style, boozy, sweet, rich, malty.. toffee, chocolate, raisins.. YUMMY!

't Gaverhopke - Extra - Another 12.0% ABV Quad/Belgian Strong..  dark amber pour, heady.. medium nose.  More booze to this one than the Malheur °12.. more caramel/toffee to the nose and taste.. a bit more of the Belgian yeast pokes through giving a wicked slight tartness to it.  Fantastic

FINALLY, the end!  de Molen - Bed & Breakfast.  Someone decided to instagram this stupid picture (I HATE instagram).. but this is probably how everything looked for me at this point anyway!  Lightest beer of the trip at 4.4% ABV.. American Amber style.. but with a twist, a coffee twist.  Nice mild caramel malts and a sharp, but smooth coffee bite.  Really diggin all these de Molen brews.

BEER!

I also stopped at Yard's Brewery.  Amazing.  Best tour I've been on thus far..  I'll discuss the beers shortly.. I brought six home!  The only one I didn't bring home that is above is the Love Stout, brewed with oysters.   Bit of a let down..slightly watery body, not much saline from the oysters..  all the others were pretty solid though!
