Bottling and C2CT

Time to bottle beer!  And, just like anytime beer is being made or bottled, you gotta drink some too!  Plus I just caved and joined the mindless masses of social media and got an Untappd account.  If you don't know what it is, no, I'm not going to tell you.  It's called Google, use it.  They have a badge for an event called Coast 2 Coast Toast, put on by a large importer of Belgian and French brews - Vanburg and DeWulf.  If you have 2 of the beers they import within the month of November, you get a badge.  I had one at a bar (I'm giving up on reviewing bar beers, unless it's something rare and amazing.

Because I've heard so much about this beer, AND it's part of that badge, I'm sold.  Brasserie Dupont - Saison Dupont.  A 6.5% ABV 28 IBU Belgian Farmhouse Ale.  This is one that when you hear Saison, many people immediately think Saison Dupont.  Cloudy golden yellow and a nice thick head.  Skunky funky aroma, citrus, yeast and a nice apple/pear fruitiness.  Definite 'barnyard funk' here, this is what a Saison should smell like.  Instant dry tart hits you first,  with some drying fruity sweetness soon following.  Light and somewhat floral, the main selling point of this brew is definitely the clean dryness of it.  Not many other Saisons are as dry, but balanced out with honey and fruit sweetness.  Heavily carbonated but very fresh.  May not be the quintessential Saison, but it's definitely damned good.
